Byzantine Portico and Shops

A wide public portico (colonnade street) paved with mosaics runs east-west along Weygand Street. Shops with mosaic floors opened onto the portico (as shown above) each bearing a Greek letter from A=I, closest to Souk Tawileh. (AUB - British Souks excavations 94-95)

Late Roman House (domus)

With dining room, internal garden (peristyle) paved with mosaics and an elaborate water and drainage system. Detail of the dining room mosaic floor covering (AUB - British Souks excavations 1995)
