Assala Nasri at Tyre Festivals:

The great artist Assala enchanted the audience at Tyre Festivals with her impressive voice and magnificent songs. Assala presented several old songs that distinguished her from other artists and some new songs that the audience sang with her. After the beautiful performance, Assala was awarded a trophy by Mrs. Nabih Berri. Finally, Assala thanked the audience and told them that she did not know that they loved her that much and that she is very happy.

Kadhim El Saher at Tyre Festivals:

The Iraqui artist Kadhim El Saher presented an unforgettable concert at the Roman Stadium in Tyre Festivals last week. The audience sang with El Saher songs from his latest album (Abhath Anki). Mrs. Randa Berri awarded artist Kadhem El Saher a trophy for his talented performance.

Beirut Billayl:

Singer Maya Nasri presented a concert last week at Beirut Billayl Restaurant and enchanted the audience including Director Simon Asmar and artist Fulla El Jazairia who were present. Furthermore, the talented comedian Bassem Feghali presented immitations of several celebrities such as Sabah, Fayrouz and Madonna.

Ilham El Medfaai:

The Iraqui artist Ilham El Medfaai presented an unforgettable night at Meridian Hotel in Damascus. The concert was attended by a number of prominent figures who sang with El Medfaai his beautiful songs. Dancer Bassima also presented a magnificent performance.  

Ragheb Alameh at Beirut Summer Festivals:

Under the patronage of Prime Minister Rafic Hariri represented by minister of Tourism, Beirut Summer Festivals were inaugurated at Ramlet Baidaa beach. Artist Ragheb Alameh was the first artist to perform in those festivals. He sang several old and new songs that the audience adored. This festival will last until August 11.


Coming Up:

Artist Assi El Hellani will present a concert at Beirut Summer Festivals-Ramlet El Baidaa on Wednesday, July 25th.

The dancing group, Capricho Espangol, will be performing live at the Casino du Liban from August 2nd until August 12th.

The talented Pascal Mechaalani will present a concert at Four Points Sheraton on July 28th, 2001.

Artist Nawal Zoughbi will be live in concert at Printania Palace Hotel on July 28th, 2001.

Fadel Shaker will present a concert at Emilton Hotel on Saturday July 28, 2001.

Artist George Wassouf will present several concerts according to the following schedule:

  • July 27th: at Regency Palace-Adma.

  • July 29th: interview with Sawt El Ghad Radio Station

  • August 4th: a concert at Cartage Festivals in Tunisia, as well as concerts in Jarba-El Zahraa, and Safakus.

  • August 9,10, and 11: Jarash Festival in Jordan.

  • August 25: a concert at Ferdauss Hotel in Ihden.

  • August 30: a concert at Sheraton Hotel in Syria.

Artist Wael Kfouri received an official invitation from Morocco to present a concert on July 28th at Aghadir Festivals. 

Artist Melhim Barakat will present a concert at Octagon Restaurant on August 18th.

Artist Rami Ayash will present several concerts as follows:

  • August 8: a concert at Aghadir Festival in Morocco.

  • August 18: a huge concert at Khan El Sayegh Restaurant in Akar.

  • August 25: a concert at the International College Stadium in Baakleen.

Singer Howayda flew to Germany to shoot her song (Dallilni) as a video clip. Afterwards, she will head to Cairo to participate in the Television Nights at the Marina. Then Howayda will present a concert at Aghadir Festival in Morocco and finally she will return to Damascus to present a charitable concert in Saydnaya. As for the month of August, her schedule will be as follows:

  • August 2nd: a concert at Abbaseen Stadium

  • August 9th: the Love and Peace Festival in Lathikiya

  • August 14th: present a concert at Wadi Tartousse Hotel

  • Then she will present a concert at the International Arab Festival at the Conference Hall in Cairo

  • August 31st: a concert at Homos El Kabir Hotel.

Artists Hani el Omari, Margo Kassar and Ola Esshark present concerts every Friday and Saturday at Casino Piscine Alley.

Baalabeck’s Festivals for Summer 2001:  

  • July 28: Pacco De Luccia, the most renown Spanish lyre player of our time, presents a concert at Jupiter temple accompanied by eight musicians.

  • August 3 and 4: Carmina Burana Monumental Opera that was designed for extraordinary sites will be presented along the music of Carl Orphe. This performance features 200 people including the orchestra and the choir, moving on a four-floor stage around a 20 m tower representing the goddess of Luck.

  • August 11: Salzburg Solo Band (24 musicians) accompanied by Danielle Laval on the piano.

Beiteddine Festivals for Summer 2001:

  • August 27, 28, 31: The great diva Fayrouz will present three concerts.

  • August 3,4: Kronos Quartet, with the participation of Lebanese composer Ali Jihad.

  • August 10,11,12,13,14: Notre Dame de Paris, Victor Hugo’s most popular tale in its  original production.

  • During the months of July and August: Badr El Hage, Photo Exhibition.

Wadih Essafi will present a festival with artist Jose Fernandise in Batroon on August 10th. Essafi will also present the festival in Syria. Essafi is currently preparing for a music tour to the United States as well as for another tour to the United Arab Emirates in September. Essafi will conclude his tour in November in Australlia.

Singer Majeda El Roumi will present several concerts during the month of August in the Arab countries as follows:

  • Six concerts in Tunisia during Cartage Festival.

  • A huge concert on August 16th in Algeria.

  • A concert at the American University in Jordan on August 24th.

Moreover, Majeda will return to Lebanon in September to record a duet song with artist Kadhim El Saher.  

Kadhim El Saher will participate in the festival that will take place on August 23rd at the International Conference Center in Cairo.

Dancer Amani will present her new dance show (Ayam wa Layali Amani) every Thursday, Friday and Saturday at Caesars Palace hall in Regency Palace Hotel. The music is in both the Lebanese and the Egyptian styles, and it is composed by: Mohammad Sultan, Ali Rida, Saleem Salama, and Nour El Saad. The show includes two parts and each part includes 8 performances. Some of the performances are:

  • (Tichno Del Ray): designed by Sami El Haj.

  • (Mon Amie La Rose): designed by dancer Amani.

  • (Bisalamat El Walad): designed by Mahmoud Rida.

  • (Clashinlove): designed by Ghalina and Fladimere Cabarokheen.

  • (Mozar El Masri): designed by Goergette Jbarah.

  • (Hi Areba): designed by Ghalina and Fladimere Cabarokheen.

  • (Amani El Omor): designed by Amani

Singer Nohad Najar sings every weekend at Mawardi restaurant.

Tarabia Restaurant presents Artist Bachar Darweesh every weekend.

Shbako nightclub presents the most entertaining atmosphere where all night lovers dance and sing with artist Fadi Badr non-stop until dawn.

Artist Imad Hawi and Racheed present the best entertainment at Connection nightclub.

Artist Fadia Najm is currently singing at Fakhreddine Restaurant every Saturday night. Najm sings there every Thursday, Friday and Saturday nights during the coming summer season.

Axaral restaurant presents the best entertainment with the live band-Flamenco every night.

Zad El Kheir:

Artists Michal El-Ashkar, Wadii Wassouf, and Omar create a unique atmosphere that adds to the hospitality of Zad El-Kheir Restaurant. The audiences enjoy their enchanting voices and the beautiful performance of dancer Nadine. As for the new summer program at Zad El Kheir, there is young Gulf artist Nour Najar.

Oragon Nightclub:

Sari El-Badia returned to present beautiful concerts at Oragon nightclub in Nahr El-Kalb. El-Badia presents a number of old and new songs and never fails to enchant his audience.

Singer Rawad presents the best entertainment at Blue Velvet nightclub. Diverse socialites attend his concerts and enjoy his lovely voice such as Madonna.

Kawkab El-Shark restaurant always presents one of the best entertainment programs in town. Singer Ziad Burji and dancer Yousra give distinctive performances that everyone who attends seems to enjoy.

Layali Beirut Restaurant presents artist Rabih Zahr.

Palm Spring Restaurant presents one of the best entertainment programs with singer Rabih Sheik every weekend.

You can dance until the sun rises to the tunes of a DJ that plays club music (Acid jazz, hip hop drum and bass) at Acid night club.

BO18 night club is distinguished by its crazy coffins décor and gothic grandeur. BO18 also presents acid jazz, drum and bass, hip hop, trip hop and house music.

Ozone night club is a lavish hang out with a futuristic feel and serving French cuisine. It presents a DJ and Arabic duo every night.

Indiana night club is distinguished by its beautiful atmosphere where couples dance to an improved and varied mix of music-from classic 70s and 80s tunes to Latino and French to the latest chart-toppers.

Retro night club is a small and intimate club that has its own bizarre touch of décor such as antiques fabrics covering the walls and sofas as well as the mirrored ceilings, funky tunes and strobe lights.

Singer Ziad Shalhoub is presenting a magnificent performance with his lovely songs at Amadious night club in Dbaiyeh.

Egzit Nightclub that plays black music exclusively - R&B, hip-hop, drum and beat, underground rap, soul and swing. It is open at 10:30 Wed., Sat, with the live show ‘Rap Zone’ on Thursdays featuring Mix FM’s DJ Rap Base playing till dawn, and gifts and prizes.

Eastern and western music is mixed together to present a charming atmosphere with singer Rashad Salwan at Titan night club.

Singer Wadii Ghoson presents classical oriental songs at Bazirkan restaurant.

Kookoo Club is a jungle setting, complete with trees, and a good mix of dance music.

Mandingo has a fun atmosphere and very lively crowd. The DJ spins mostly Oriental music with a little international flavour mixed in. It’s no surprise to discover that the music is loud and the atmosphere a little crazy.

Times is popular with the 20s and up in-crowd who want to dance and party all night long. Music is a mixture of Arabic and pop. There are lots of mirrors for those who want to check out the way they look on the dance floor.

Waves Club boasts being the only one in the North. DJ music, and every Saturday night, a trio performs oriental and international music, with dancers from Studio El Fan.

Stars Nightclub has a fashionable décor, and good music at this ‘in’ place up in Faraya that can attract up to 800 partygoers on Saturdays.

Zanzibar’s décor is fun and blends local ethnic patterns, South American and African paintings and old Roman stones. Latin nights with half price tequila margaritas on Thursdays. Dance around the globe with Real World Music on Tuesdays and Wednesdays. Fridays and Saturdays dance to new generation music. Jazz on Saturdays.
