Rammstein
nominated for Grammy Award

Germany's
biggest rock band Rammstein have been nominated for a prestigious Grammy Award,
with their song 'Mein Teil' competing in the 'Best Metal Performance' category
alongside the likes of Ministry and Slipknot. The announcement, made by the
Academy yesterday (December 8th), marks the second occasion that Rammstein have
received a Grammy nomination, their first being in 1999 for the track 'Du Hast'.
"Mein
Teil" was the first single from last year's Rammstein album "Reise,
Reise", which went top-10 in 20 countries. Rammstein's latest album "Rosenrot"
(released October 2005) notched up 20 top-10 positions worldwide as well.
The
48th Annual Grammy Awards will be held on Wednesday, Feb. 8, at the Staples
Center in Los Angeles.
Rammstein storm international charts once more!
A year after the release of their hugely successful album "Reise,
Reise" Rammstein storm the charts again with their brand new album "Rosenrot".
Released on 28 October, the album has now charted in the top-10 in 18 countries,
of which Austria, Germany, Estonia and Finland entered at # 1, defying
competition from the likes of Robbie Williams and Depeche Mode. The album hit
GOLD in Austria, Czech Republic, Denmark and Finland and PLATINUM in Germany and
Switzerland within a week from release.

"Rosenrot" was Universal's best selling product on iTunes in
both Germany and France in week of release.
The album is also available as a special digipack fan edition, containing
a bonus-DVD with three songs of Rammstein's 2005 "Reise, Reise" tour
throughout Europe and Japan, as an appetizer for the band's forthcoming live DVD/CD,
due for release in March next year.
The current
international single "Benzin" will be followed by title-track "Rosenrot",
to be released beginning of December. |
