The Italian Institute of Culture in Lebanon, in collaboration with the Italian Embassy, organizes five concerts by the orchestra and the international choir of Rome,
NOVUM CONVIVIUM MUSICUM, with the participation of the Choir
"Notre Dame de Louaizé" University and the solo singers: Rosalba Scuteri (soprano),
Morgana Pala (contralto), Jihad Zeidan (Tenor),
Paolo Drigo (bass) under the direction of Maestro Antonio
Pantaneschi.
The Novum Convivium Musicum choir will offer a program of Choir songs from Lyric Operas of G. Verdi, G. Rossini, G. Puccini, P. Mascagni, R. Wagner and P.G. da
Monteleone as well as from Italian popular songs by G. Micheli, G. De Murzi, A. De Curtis and various other authors.
The “Novum Convivium Musicum”, was founded more than ten years ago by the Maestro Ingo Bathow. It is presently composed of about 60 musicians and singers who occasionally rely on outside collaborators and solo singers (ex. K. Ricciarelli, V. Hernandez, R. De Nicola, H. Jeong).
Among the numerous concerts given in different occasions, we cite the concerts given for the General Staff of the Italian Navy, the concerts of Christmas and Easter traditionally given in Rome, Florence and Naples, as well as the concert in the St. Peter Basilica in Rome, at the presence of His Holiness Pope John Paul II.
The Choir of the university “Notre Dame de Louaizé” was founded in October 1993 by Father Khalil Rahmé, and has an important role in the Lebanese musical life.
The Choir shifts between different musical kinds, from the profane to the religious, including classical, medieval, contemporary, oriental and local music. It recorded many programs for national TV networks.
In May 1997, the Choir sang during the Mass of His Holiness the Pope John Paul II in Beirut. It also gave many concerts and participated to different Festivals in Lebanon as well as in various European Countries.
