"THE DREAM, THE COLOR, THE SIGN"

(Collective works of Italian contemporary artists on paper )

12-19 April 2000

SALLE POLIVALANTE A.L.B.A.  Sin el Fil

The exhibition proposes a part of the artistic panorama and  research in progress for some years now in Italy, aiming to examine the different "virtual" sectors in which the language of art presently articulates itself. "Virtual" because it is hard to identify the demarcation line among the different attitudes adopted by the proposed artists; however, we can classify them in three currents: representational, abstract, and new technologies.

The chosen media, paper, makes the comparison easier. It eliminates the difference between the materials used to achieve the selected works and gives back its century-old charm.

The presented artists give us the possibility to have a look on what art in Italy will be at the dawn of the third millennium. Among the artists, some have already acquired an international fame, some belong to this new generation which proved to be able to produce high quality artistic works, and others are foreigners living and working for many years now in Italy.
