in Palermo, Sicily,
Fabio
Biondi
studied
violin
with
Salvatore
Cicero,
then
moved
to Rome to
pursue
his
music
lessons
with
Mauro
lo
Guercio.
At
the
young
age
of
12
he
plays
in
solo
concerts
with
the
Symphonic
Orchestra
of
the
RAI.
Soon
Fabio
Biondi
will
discover
the
pioneers
who
set
a
new
approach
to
Baroque
music,
thus
enlarging
his
own
musical
vision.
At
the
age
of
16,
his
career
is
already
at
a
turning
point
as
he
performs
at
the
Musikverein
playing
Bach
on
traditional
baroque
instruments.
He
has
worked
with
world
famous
ensembles
such
as
Capella
Real,
Musica
Antiqua
Vienne,
Il
Seminario
Musicale,
La
Chapelle
Royale et
les
Musiciens
du
Louvre.
In
1989
he
created
the
ensemble
Europa
Galante,
which
assumed
a
rapidly
growing
international
following.
Its
success
symbolizes
the
revival
of
Italian
baroque
music.
Since
its
first
recording,
Europa
Galante
won
international
recognition
for
its
innovative
and
daring
interpretation
of
Italian
music.
It
soon
asserted
itself
by
winning
many
awards

music
stretches
between
the
17th and
the 18th centuries.

this
period
great
instrumental
works
have
been
composed:
Boccherini's
quintet,
Mozart's
violin
concerti,
Bellini's
à
la
Norma.
This
work
was
played
during
the
first
Verdi
Festival
that
took
place
in Parma on
March
2001.
Traditional
musical
instruments
of
the
baroque
period
have
been
used
in
this
contemporary
interpretation.
Whether
accompanied
by
the
piano,
the
harpinchord
or
pianoforte
or
playing
as
a
soloist,
Biondi's
repertoire
includes
sonatas
by
Bach,
Mozart,
Schubert
&
Schuman.
It
also
reaches
into
the
Italian
18C violin
repertoires
to
reach
for
pieces
by
Veracini,

Fabio
Biondi
owns
an
invaluable
violin
made
in Naples by
Ferdinando
Gagliano
in
1766.

belonged
to
Fabio's
instructor
Salvatore
Cicero
and
was
later
given
to
the
famous
violinist
by
the
Salvatore
Cicero
Foundation..
