The Festival is held in a 200-year-old palace in Beiteddine, a little town in the mountainous region of the Chouf, 45 kilometers south-east of Beirut.

The violinist Fabio Biondi will perform with his orchestra Europa Galante in the temple of Bacchus. An exceptional concert for classical music lovers.

Ahmad Jamal: 18th and 19th of July 2003

Johnny Hallyday : 2nd & 3rd of August 2003

As part of his colossal 60th birthday tour, the French rock star Johnny Hallyday will be performing at the temple of Jupiter for two nights. Renowned for his energetic performances, the idol of rock music lovers will shake, rattle and roll the columns of the temple of Jupiter with favorite hits like "Que je t'aime", "Quelque chose de Tennessee", "Marie" and other hits. With his latest album, A la vie, à la mort, Johnny is once again at the top chart in the sales of albums and singles. Today, at the height of his career, Johnny Hallyday promises the event of the season, a show not to be missed. 

Opera "Carmen" by Bizet: 7th and 9th August 2003

The opera "Carmen", the most popular opera in the world, is an exclusive French production for Baalbeck. More than 145 participants will perform at the steps of the temple of Jupiter, including the Orchestre Symphonique et Lyrique Français directed by Philippe Hui, the Opera National de Paris choir, the Maîtrise des Hauts-de-Seine children choir, Marie-Thérèse Keller as Carmen and Luca Lombardo as Don José. The artistic director of this unique production is Philippe Hui, and Jack Gervais is the director.
