The
Lebanese
National
Symphony
Orchestra
Stretched
(over
a
period
of
25
months)
between
February
2000
and
April
2002,
there
is
hardly
enough
time
for
a
national
orchestra
to
prove
itself
both
locally
and
regionally.
Nevertheless,
the
Lebanese
National
Symphony
Orchestra,
was
able
during
this
short
period,
and
in
spite
of
its
young
"age",
to
gain
great
success.
First,
it
presented
more
than
60
performances
in
different
places
aside
from
Beirut,
always
followed
by
a
faithful
audience,
of
around
60
thousand
spectators.
Second
it
played
a
most
varied
international
repertoire
by
world
renown
classical
music
composers.

Ranging
from
the
easy
to
the
difficult,
from
classic
to
modern,
from
simple
to
complicated,
the
orchestra
could
always
perform
with
utmost
precision
due
to
exhaustive
exercise.
Third,
the
orchestra
played
host
to
well
known
soloist
such
as
polish
guitar
player
Vladimir
Gromolak,
Dutch
violonist
Werther
Vosn,
Spanish
guitar
player
José
del
Ray,
Lebanese
violonist
Zareh
Tcheroyan,
polish
pianist
Radivonovitch,
the
trio
Sterioni
(cello,
piano,
violin),
american
singers
on
a
special
show...
Fourth,
it
was
led
under
the
baton
of
famous
conductors
who
testified
for
its
professionalism
and
high
level.
To
name
but
a
few:
the
Syrian
Salhi
el
Wadi,
the
Egyptian
Ahmad
al
Saïdi,
the
Italian
Paolo
Olini
and
Michelangeli,
the
Finland
Thomas
Rossi,
etc.
The
orchestra
accompanied
the
Prague
choir
to
present
Rossini's
"Stabbat
Mater".
Fifth,
it
participated
in
the
programme
of
the
Al
Bustan
winter
festival
in
playing
on
more
than
one
occasion.
And
last
but
not
least,
the
orchestra
could,
in
a
short
period
of
time,
play
great
symphonies
never
performed
before.
Through
its
work
schedule
it
helped
include
Lebanon
in
the
world's
cultural
agenda
as
a
country
owning
a
proud
national
orchestra.
Baalbeck
has
received
on
its
steps
many
world
renown
great
orchestras.
It
is
happy
to
receive
this
summer
our
highly
acclaimed
national
orchestra
under
the
leadership
of
its
founder
Dr
Walid
Gholmieh.
The
event
is
scheduled
for
August
2,
2002.
In
announcing
this
event,
the
Baalbeck
Committee
is
been
on
turning
this
evening
into
a
festive
celebration
for
the
whole
of
the
Bekaa.
This
summer,
the
rose
of
the
Bekaa
Baalbeck,
will
introduce
great
classical
music
to
every
household
in
the
region,
making
it
a
part
of
the
heritage.
Similarly
the
Lebanese
Symphony
orchestra
has
worked
on
its
Beirut
audience
to
make
classical
music
part
of
everyday
living.
This
big
success
was
guided
by
Dr
Walid
Gholmieh
.
This
summer
a
Lebanese
and
international
public
will
flood
Baalbeck's
majestic
temples
to
enjoy
a
unique
experience
:
the
proud
performance
of
the
Lebanese
National
Symphony
Orchestra
