About "Two Thousand and One Nights"

In a new Theatrical creation by the Caracalla Dance Theatre, "Two Thousand and One Nights" unveils the mystery of the East.

Through the sands of time, enchanted tales of the "Arabian Nights" have entranced its readers with the unusual and extraordinary. Their dominant effect lies in their ability to enlighten the human spirit and redeem the symbolism that touches the senses.

In our story, "Sheherazade" cures "Sheherayar" from his hatred and sets free the wrath of his rule. The determined hope of an "unknown prince" challenges death and conquers with love. While at the market place, disguised amongst the parading merchants each eager to "sell beauty", appears a stranger who mesmerizes the crowd searching for justice between rich and poor.

Throughout the centuries, an obsessive attraction to the aesthetics of the East has been a vast inspiration to numerous artists from the world. "Two Thousand and One Nights" opens the eyes to an intriguing fantasy and the hearts to a romantic imagination of desire and compassion. With an original music score of grand oriental orchestration, a majestic stage setting, the richness of detailed costumes depicting their characters and a spirited choreography, "Two Thousand and One Nights" journeys through an innovative creation into the new century of the art world.
