FREE MONEY

Starting: 20 May 1999
Showing in: Circuit Planète

Production Information

Imagine marrying the two most beautiful girls on the planet--and they are twins! Now imagine waking up next to their father...

MDP Worldwide presents 'Free Money', a wacky new comedy that tells the story of two small towns heroes who hit the jackpot...and it almost kills them. Marlon Brando is in negotiations to star as "The Swede", the most feared man in town, especially to the two guys who've taken his daughters. With a Fargo-like comedic tone, 'Free Money' is a darkly hilarious look at the consequences of sex, crime and desperation.

Bud Dyerten and Larry Lindquivst haven't been this lucky since they led the high school football team to the state championships 10 years ago. Looking across the church aisle at their two new brides, they know the true meaning of Nirvana.

Since the Serenson twins, Inga and Liv, blossomed into young women a year or two earlier, men in this small town have seen them as impossible prizes. Beautiful, yes, but no one in their right mind would risk the wrath of their father, The Swede (Marlon Brando), to get them. The warden of the local prison, the Swede is the meanest, toughest son-of-bitch that's ever lived.

When Bud and Larry accidently got Inga and Liv pregnant, they thought their lives were over, and if they turned and looked back at the Swede during the wedding ceremony, they would probably die in fear. He's furious, and plans to make their lives a living hell. He'll either kill them of force them into divorce--he doesn't care which.
As part of his plan, he forces Bud, Larry, Inga and Liv to come and live under his roof. Practically cackling with glee, he forces Larry to cook the meals and gives Bud his own job--cleaning every speck of dirt off of his new truck. This is not only a truck, this is the God of trucks! Big, black and powerful, it cost the Swede his life savings and, the Swede feels, is worth every penny.

Under the Swede's thumb, married bliss turns to desperation for Bud and Larry hatches a desperate plan to rid themselves of hate Swede's tyranny once and for all. They know that a train carrying millions of dollars of old bills is due to pass through the town, and the men guarding it are even stupider than Bud and Larry! The crowning touch turns Bud's blood to ice in fear--Larry plans to use the Swede's truck as bait.

Bud finally agrees to the plan when it's clear that they won't survive another week of the Swede's torture. The plan goes off without a hitch--for the first five minutes. But everything goes horribly wrong when the train fails to stop for the Swede's truck, which Bud and Larry have parked on the tracks. As the two watches in horror, the train smashes the beautiful truck to smithereens! Executing "Plan B", Bud and Larry scramble to take the money off the train.

When the Swede's awakens to find his truck gone, you could hear the bellow for miles. Forget about last night's train robbery, he yells. If he ever catches the thieves who stole the truck, he won't just kill them, he'll send their souls to hell!

Desperation and comedy mix in equal parts as Bud and Larry use every trick in the book to stay out of the Swede's clutches and get away with the money. And just as it seems that they might actually escape the town with Inga, Liv and the money intact, the whole scheme is blown and the Swede discovers their role in the crime! Now it's up to our two heros to pull off their most desperate schemes yet.

Starring: Marlon Brando.
