Biography

Claude Challe’s C.V should be written in music notes alone: music is his life; it marks the tempos of his adventures. This unique vibration is the main underlying theme.

Music is the only language that enables man to communicate with the sacred and with other beings, in emotion, desire and plenitude, without giving birth to violence, conflict, misunderstanding and dissonance. It is the only true language of humanity, for beyond concepts and words lies transcendence, creativity and absolute movement.
Music is the salt of life;
its vibration, its most beautiful energy, its Verb.”

This troubadour could have only come from one of those hot and sensual lands. Tunisia offered him his roots, his parents a heritage of mixed Jewish wisdom and Oriental magic. Claude arrived in France at the age of three. He entered a rabbinic school and became an apprentice of the Sacred Books. Adolescence and the school of Life forged his motto for him: “Too much is never enough”.

At nineteen, Claude opened the first unisex and music hair salon of the capital. His nickname became “the man with the golden scissors”. The Parisian jet set was already queuing at the door. Shortly thereafter, this idealist decided to give rein to his hippy dream and left to share it with the like-minded in a commune in Sardinia. His route led him to India, Nepal, Indonesia…

On returning to France, Claude embarked on a fashion adventure with all his autodidactic talent. He saw the opening of several clothes shops: the creation of the first jean and up-market clothes boutique, the first romantic, Pirate fashion shop and Snoopy fashion imports…In the same stride, he threw himself into photography and left for Los Angeles where for one year he lived amongst the fashion milieu, moving to the rhythm of the women he revered.

His return to Paris launched him into the milieu of the Night. He opened “Le Privé”, the first club where jet sets and artists were brought together. It proved to be a great success. Other places followed shortly: “Le Centre Ville”, the first trendy restaurant in Les Halles, decorated by Starck, “Les Bains”, renowned throughout the world and finally, the “ Buddha Bar”.

The creation of these exceptional events, such as the “Réveillon des mondes” with Radio Nova in Parc Floral at Vincennes, his weekly show “Magic” on the same radio station and his production of music documentaries, turned this Night professional into a magician of the Parisian parties and shortly thereafter, the international parties. Wherever Claude Challe is to be found, you can be sure that the crowd is never far behind: Beautiful people, artists, businessmen, models…all those searching for ambiance, unexpected encounters and a particular atmosphere - the Claude Challe touch.

These past five years Claude has travelled the world djing, animating the best parties of the planet and launching his own label: Chall’OMusic.

A new concept, a rich box set and music that vibrates the body, touches the heart and lifts the spirit. Each compilation is a reference and is sold worldwide.

A unique booklet, complete with illustrations and text in both French and English depicting Claude’s universe, accompanies each double CD. “Les Bains Douche”: reverence after ten years of madness ; “Lover Dose”: a tribute to Love.

Flying Carpet”: a voyage into the Orient ; “Buddha Bar” n° 1 and 2: a double CD that went gold. A numbered box set that equally includes the four preceding box sets.

In Preparation
A collection presenting Claude Challe’s favourites for artists all over the world.
A compilation for the summer: SUN ; the opening of “Nirvana Lounge” in September, where virtual becomes real ; and finally, “Claude Challe and friends”, an album composed of original masterpieces.

And the best is yet to come…
