Geography :

=> Lying on the East coast of the Mediterranean sea, Lebanon is 10452 KM sq. From North to south it measures around 180 KM of coastal shores. Lebanon is surrounded by Palestine from the South, the Mediterranean sea from the West and Syria from both East & North.

 
Weather :

=> The climate can be described as Mediterranean, moderate climate with mild rainy winters & long warm Summers. The temperature varies from 07c to 35c. The temperature in summer is pleasantly warm, cold in winter with snow falling at 1000 m altitude and above.

Passport & visas :

=> All foreigners must hold a passport valid for a period of at least six month from the date of arrival. Individual traveler visas must be issued and obtained from the Lebanese Consulate at the country of origin. A group (collective) visa can be arranged by Anastasia Travel. The Conditions include the following:
  • Group size must be minimum of 8 persons.
  • A copy of the first 3 pages of the passport (showing clearly validity and picture) must be sent by courrier not fax.
  • A Charge of $ 20.00 per person.
  • All passport formalities must be delivered minimum 15 days prior to passengers arrival.

** Important: The Lebanese government refuses entry & transit to holders of passports containing a visa for Israel.

=> The majority of the Lebanese speaks French & English in addition to the native language (Arabic).

=> Lebanon : All currency exchange in & out of the country are completely free. Foreign currency can be exchanged at any bank or at exchange counters found in main business areas. The monetary unit is the Lebanese pound ( Ex. $1= 1 500 LL) Bank notes are divided into units of LL 100.000, LL 50.000, LL 25.000, LL 10.000, LL 5.000, LL 1.000, LL 500, LL 250

Transportation :

=> GMT + 2 hours in winter & + 3 hours in summer.
