“Superstar” in its final and decisive phase awaiting the judgment of the audience

Beirut: Superstar, which is broadcasted by Future Television International, has been rated the most successful out of all entertainment shows that have been made and produced both in Lebanon and the Arab World. The media described “Superstar” as a “high quality hit” after becoming the Number One show in terms of the percentage of viewers it attracted due to its constant renewal and variety that other entertainment shows could not compete with. Lipton Tea did not only sponsor the show by searching for “the best voice in the Arab World”; it also launched the logo “Try the Taste of Fame.”

Most of the Arab World represented by 55 participants, all dreaming of fame and stardom, have arrived to Lebanon to fight the battle of the finals that continued over six consecutive episodes whereby all the participants presented their best performance to win. Maintaining the significance of the audience’s role in selecting their “Arab star”, being a trustworthy player, the audience was given the right to select the best 12 participants who moved to the final phase that will be broadcasted live over a period of nine weeks. This phase will start with performance of the competing participants and end with the audience’s crowing of the “Arab Superstar” for the year 2003.

As for the 12 participants who moved to the final phase, they are: Diana Karazoun from Jordan, Melhem Zein from Lebanon, Rowaida Attieh from Syria, Saber Shouerif from Algeria, Mohammad Lafi from Palestine, Wael Mansour from Egypt, Suoud Abu Sultan from U.A.E. Merhi Serhal from Lebanon, Nancy Zaabalawi from Syrian, or Haytham Said from Egypt, or Shadi Aswad, or Saad Jamaleddine from Lebanon?

The final competition will include plenty of surprises and will be held on a very huge stage distinguished by its enormous decorations. A music band consisting of 35 musicians lead by Composer Bassam Badour will accompany the participants as they sing live in front of the viewers and the audience in the studio.

Mr. Anis Jamjoum, the Regional Marketing Manager at Lipton maintained, “The absolute popularity of Superstar in terms of its creativity and ability to reveal the participants’ talents gave the show its great significance in the eyes of the viewers of the Arab World. “Our entire support of Superstar proves our deep commitment to the continued interaction with the Arab youth who appreciate art,” he continued.

In addition, the performance of the participants will be distinguished by the different styles of singing like the traditional and classical Arab singing, the gulf style of music, modern pop, and the well-known songs. Some of them will also surprise the audience by singing in duets.

The last nine episodes will be distinguished by the large number of the most famous stars of music and art in Lebanon and the Arab and western world that the show will host. Examples of those guests are the Ambassador of the Saudi song, Mohammad Abdo, the Great Artist Sabah Fakhri, the Superstar Ragheb Alama, the Tunisian Artist Saber Ruba’i, and the French Singer Opheley Winter and others.

Also among the most distinguished guests of the show will be the managing director of the international WARNER that will sponsor the winner and make him a star. It is the exclusive representative of the International Company in all the Arab and North African countries that has previously launched a large number of the most significant stars of Arab singing, and will sponsor the winner through its joint collaboration with Future Television and providing all the possible means for supporting and sponsoring the winner.
