The Agenda of the Cabinet session

The Council of Ministers will hold tomorrow its weekly session, headed by the Prime Minister, Mr Rafiq Al-Hariri.

The agenda of the Cabinet includes 65 items, among which :

1-A bill to turn Chemists union membership in lebanon into a compulsory one.

2-A bill to organize the marketing of agricultures products.

3-The exposure by the council of Development and Reconstruction of modifying two articles of a loan draft-agreement with the European. Investment Bank, to finance the works that protect the Lebanese beach from pollution.

4-A draft-decree to fix construction terms within unorganized regions.

5-A draft-decree to modify two lists within the cadre of the general directorate of the presidency of the council of Ministers.

6 -A draft-decree to exempt three fire cars, belonging to Beirut Fire Department from the minimal customs dues (2%)

7-A draft-decree to modify the terms of nomination for technical jobs within Topography Department.

8-A draft-decree to renominate one third of the members of the Orders Council, for another period of 3 years.

9-A draft-decree to fix the number of  Lebanese civilians who might be granted national Orders, or lifted up from one grade to another, during 1997.

10-A draft-decree to cease the function of an editor within the Ministry of Mail and Telecommunications, upon his request.

11-A draft-decree to cease the function of a technical professional within the cadre of the Ministry of Mail and Telecommunication .

12-A draft-decree to cease the function of a secondary teacher, upon his request .

13-A draft-decree to cease the function of 3 civilian functionaries within the Army, upon their request.

14-A draft-decree to cease the function of a professor of the Lebanese University cadre, upon his request.

15-A draft-decree to retire a civilian official of the Army, upon his request.

16-A draft-decree to set special rules for the customs employees.

17-A draft-decree to exempt gifts offered by the International Food Program from customs dues.

18-A draft-decree to set special rules for the employees of the general  directorate of civilian aviation.

19-A draft-decree to shift a credit from the budget of Development and Reconstruction Council into a special account of the Ministry of Mail and Telecommunications within the Bank of Lebanon.

20-A draft-decree to abide by the parking law.

21-A draft-decree to nominate the government commissionary, within the disciplinary council of the Lebanese University

22-A draft-decree to cancel the decree 9447, dated on October 25th 1996, and to modify some highway plans.

23-A draft-decree to render the Lebanese nationality to a Lebanese native.

24-A draft-decree to modify the titles of firemen jobs and department, as well as nomination conditions.

25-The request by the Ministry if Interior Affairs to settle the issue of granting a license for trading hunting guns and munitions, to Mr Elie Metri El-Haddad, Rahbeh, Caza Akkar.

26-The request by the Ministry of Interior Affairs the issue of granting Affairs to settle the issue of granting a license for importing military guns, ammunitions and equipments, to Medcorp Co, Jounieh, El-Kaslik and to Grama Trade Co. Hazmyeh, Mar-Tacla.

27- To accept a gift (a car) offered by the German government to the general directorate of the General Security Department.

28-The exposure by the Ministry of Environment of the Bourj Hammoud dump.

29-The request by the Ministry of Economy and Trade to accept concluding a contract with the Chamber of Commerce and Industry in Beirut, to contribute to the organization of  Lebanese exhibitions held abroad.

30-The request by the Ministry of Economy and Trade to accept hiring employees within the general directorate of Economy and Trade.

31-The request by the Ministry of Economy and Trade to modify the Cabinet decision n"24, dated on August 28th 1996, concerning a contract concluded with two experts.

32-The exposure by the Ministry of National Defense of the issue of granting subventions to the heirs of two Army Martyrs.

33-The request made by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to accept adding 5 cars to  Lebanese embassy in Greece .

34-The request by the Ministry of Justice to accept hiring for the sake of the court of Tyre

35-The exposure by the Ministry of Finance and the customs Department of the issue of goods included by the law of  boycotting Israel.

36-The issue of indemnities for workers dismissed from Tripoli oil strainers.

37-The request by the Ministry of Public Works to accept renting a building for the technical office, in the Caza of Tyre.

38-The request by the Ministry of information to receive a gift of  telecommunications devices offered by the Chinese New Press Agency to the Lebanese Press Agency.

39-The request by the Ministry of Information to take part in the 18th session of the General Association of Arab Countries Radio Stations Union, to be held in Cairo.

40-The request by the Ministry of Public Health to accept renting a building for the sake of Qana Governmental Hospital.

41-The request by the Ministry of Hydroelectric Resources to accept granting concessions about conducting studies and controlling some water works execution.

42-The request by the Ministry of National Education, Youth and Sports to accept sending a an official (Mr. Marcele Abi Nader) to participate in a symposium about developing techniques of French teaching, to be held in Bordeaux, in France, between the 11th and 14th of December 1996.

43-The request made by the Ministry of National Education, Youth and Sports to accept sending an official (Mr Badri Najm) to take part in the educational conference, that would be held in Oman, between the 13th and 18th of December 1996.

44-The issue of destroying old cars belonging to the Council of Development and  Reconstruction.

45-The request made to accept granting an official a social subvention.

Miscellaneous...

*The parliamentary committee on Administration and Justice, decided to set before the parliament the motion concerning the rendering immunity to the civil service council and central Inspection Body.

*The Ministry of Economy and Trade, Mr Yassin Jaber, pursued yesterday his contacts with foreign diplomats about the conference of  Lebanon Friends. In this regard, he received the Japanese and Netherlands ambassadors, Messers Yassugy Ichikagy and Ronald Mulinger who declared their countries participation in the Conference.
