Minkara Group has extended its activities toward the tele- communications sector, under the division called Global Video Conferencing, to provide solutions for clients in distance learning, telemedicine, security & surveillance and corporate environments.

In 1998 Global Video Conferencing lead the way in the field of videoconferencing by introducing the first H324 standard (POTS) videophone in Lebanon that transmits duplex video/audio over regular telephone lines. Videophone applications range from simple face-to-face videoconferencing, distance learning, remote medical consultations, traffic monitoring and remote surveillance.

In the beginning of 1999, GVC established the first traffic monitoring network in Lebanon using the H324 videophone technology. Videophones are being installed to cover the most dense traffic locations in the Greater Beirut area. Videophone users simply call the traffic videophone number and connect to view a live traffic video image from the comfort of their home or office.
