Beirut
the capital  of Lebanon, has been called the Pearl of the Orient. It counts a large number of ultramodern hotels, tourist resorts, restaurants, cabarets, cinemas, theaters. Lebanon also enjoys a free economic system and there are no currency restrictions here. A traveller may bring in or take out any amount of money, for instance, and becuase of exchange facilities stores and shops of the city are stoked with goods from all over the world. Beirut is also  a fashion center and counts a number of couturiers now renowned in many parts of the world. It is worthwhile stopping to visit the , Grottoes hollowed out of a group of isolated rocks not far from the shore.
